X-Racer

Scalextric was one of the toys that every little kid had to have. But after a while the effort of setting it up and then finding that one of your cars is bust just starts putting you off playing it. What you need is a quick alternative that will always work, well look no further because here is X-Racer.

Choose to be either of the cars (red or blue) and then select which track (one of four including loops and other exciting track) and away you are. By using the mouse button in a way similiar to the old Scalextric controller you have to rack up as many laps as you can in the given time, and after crossing certain milestones (eg. 15 or 25 laps) you get extended time to go for more laps.

And although when you crash you don't have to crawl half way across the room to get your car back (unless it crashed straight into your shin!) the excitement that was made from Scalextric just doesn't convert onto the PC. Nice looking, but ultimately repetitive and soon becomes very average.
