Ever woken up in the middle of the night to find you've been kidnapped... and so's your bedroom? Ever had to fend for yourself in the face of strangely hypnotic music, alien doctors, talking computers a-plenty and half-finished bathrooms? Ever found something unpleasant in a burger? If so, Out Of Order should play like any other day in your life. Otherwise, it's an experience not to be missed.
Out Of Order is a traditional 2D point-and-click adventure game. It is a comedy thriller who-dunnit which could almost fall into the category "sci-fi". It's high-res and high colour, consists of around 30 rooms, took about 3 years to make and is, thanks to a sudden change of heart and a lazy streak about 4-foot wide, free.
Having grown up on Lucas Arts masterpieces such as Sam and Max, The Dig and the superb Monkey Island series I have always had a soft spot for adventure games. But never in all my time running this freeware site did I imagine a completely free game to rank up along side those just mentioned. Simply put, this game is amazing.
The game plays fantastically, the ambience is perfect (including great elevator music) and the story is both original and very funny. I have not enjoyed a freeware game this much in a long long time.
